About Kate Wise and Bhakti Explosion:
Heart-centered yogis who love to rock ‘n’ roll have been flocking to Katie Wise & Bhakti Explosion’s live kirtans on the West Coast, and at the biggest sacred music festivals in the US and internationally, such as Lovelight, Unify, Arise, Hanuman Festival, Bhakti Fest, Stonehenge Music Festival, and Holistic Manchester. Based in Boulder, Colorado, this bhakti-infused powerhouse band pulses with rootsy world soul, featuring angelic harmonies that soar over an array of western and Indian instruments. Their debut album, Lovolution, is praised by Dave Stringer as combining “beautifully nuanced country and Americana influences, inflected with just the right amount of Eastern mysticism.” Produced by Grammy-nominee Ben Leinbach and featuring guest vocals by Jai Uttal, Lovolution has received acclaim in the US (Yoga Journal, Yoga International), UK (Kindred Spirit, Yoga Magazine) and Australia (Soul Traveller Radio, and Australian Yoga Life), and was named “best chant album of the year” by American promoter Lloyde Barde. David Newman calls leader Katie Wise "a solid force and presence for those who look to their music for peace, heart, groove, and spiritual inspiration.” Katie Wise & Bhakti Explosion are America's pioneers of mantra-rock music. Their music has the power to heal and inspire the world. More at bhaktiexplosion.com
